Why Sing?

Joyful Community Building Through Song
Choir & Company is an incredibly uplifting and joyful community-building experience through song. We turn team-building events, concerts, and gatherings of all kinds into extraordinary, unforgettable experiences of collective music making! Music has the unique power to bring people together, inspire creativity, and strengthen relationships–and singing with others boosts mindfulness, reduces stress, and has proven benefits for our health and well-being. There’s no musical experience necessary. We’re experts at leading singers of all skill levels in an atmosphere that’s free of judgment and full of laughs.
The physical and neurological benefits of singing are well-documented, making it an ideal wellness activity for corporate teams: Group singing triggers the release of oxytocin–often called the “bonding hormone”–as well as feel-good endorphins, while reducing cortisol levels and stress The controlled breathing required for singing improves lung function and oxygen circulation, leading to increased energy and mental clarity Singing is a sneaky workout for your upper body–it strengthens your core, improves posture (key for desk jockeys), and builds up your diaphragm Our immune systems get a powerful boost from singing, thanks to increased production of immunoglobulin A, a key antibody The vagus nerve is activated when singing, helping regulate your heart rate and blood pressure while reducing anxiety Singing together naturally aligns breathing patterns, heart rates, and emotional states, fostering a profound sense of unity that extends far beyond the music!
Magic happens when teams step away from their desks to sing together. The playful nature of group singing opens minds and sparks innovation in new ways that don’t happen during the typical day-to-day. Creativity flows freely, minds open to new possibilities, and innovative solutions emerge far more effectively than in any traditional brainstorming session. Beyond the measurable benefits, there’s something uniquely joyful about creating music in a group. Digital communication dominates the typical workplace, but group singing offers a refreshingly authentic way to connect. It creates lasting memories and shared achievements that bond teams in ways that conventional team-building activities simply can’t match. The shared experience levels the playing field, so to speak, and builds genuine relationships that strengthen your company’s culture. Defenses melt away, and even the most reserved team members find themselves opening up. In these unguarded moments, space is created for genuine connection and collaboration. And the magic of singing together doesn’t end when the music does. Teams return to their work roles energized and transformed, carrying joy and a collaborative spirit. They now have new ways of listening to each other, solving problems together, and turning everyday challenges into opportunities for collaboration. These moments of musical connection become the foundation for lasting workplace harmony. And here’s the icing on the cake–while singing together delivers all these incredible benefits for your team’s health, ability to connect, and mindful wellbeing, it’s also ridiculously, outrageously fun. There’s just nothing like the natural high of making music together, sharing laughs, and creating something amazing together
